Dreamweaver VS OpenSource

The biggest trouble when a programmer that works for himself and not for a company is the price of the programs such as Adobe Dreamweaver.

But have you ever consider OpenSource programs?

Adobe Dreamweaver has three major qualities that make it a great web design program:

1-Auto-complete on the "Code" tap when you creating a page.

2-Being able to see the output of your code without having to save the document.

3-A long and vast list of tools on the Design tap which makes our work very easier.

I must admit, it's hard to find a good OpenSource program with all those qualities, but the money you save it's worth it from my point of view.

For the Auto-complete part I think BlueFish is the best option. Even thought it doesn't support WYSIWYG content, it's auto-complete tool saves allot of trouble for those who only program and don't design. But it's only available to Linux, Mac and Unix platforms.

For those who are both designers and programmers I recommend using SCREEM or Quanta Plus. Their programming tools are considerable good and they have the ability to see how is the output without having to save the file. Both of them only for Linux, Mac and Unix.

For the last part I wasn't able to find any program that even matched Adobe Dreamweaver's Design tools. It has the best that is out there.

"Temp" Folder - Part 2

This is the second part of this tutorial on how to increase the performance of your computer without having to format your whole computer.
In this part I'll tell you how to get a few more free space with the "Temp" Folder.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you just need to go to the Start bar and write: %Temp%

It Should appear something like this.

Double Click on the folder and a series of files will appear. You can erase them all, if the computer doesn't let you erase any just let it stay there.
That way you can clean up to several Gigabytes on your computer. You can just as easily erase the files on your "Trash" folder.

Disk Cleaning - Part 1

This is the first part of How to clean and increase your computer's speed with simple things.
This part is about using the tool of disk cleaning. I'm using Windows 7, but it's the same thing for Windows XP and Windows Vista.

First, go to your Computer and select the disk you want to clean. (In my case is C:)

Then Right click on disk and it will appear a menu.

(My screen shots would appear in Portuguese, but it's the same option in every language)

And choose the option Properties.

Then click on the Disk Cleaning button.

After clicking on that button this window should appear, wait for it to finish calculating.

Now you choose which items you want to clean or erase. And click OK

Now just let it finish the job and you will see that you will have more space on the computer to use

Blind Carbon Copy

For those who don't know what this is, BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) is a protocol on every e-mail message service (Gmail; Yahoo; Hotmail; Etc.) that allows the sender, when he is sending an email to several contacts at the same time, to hide the contacts that he chooses. The contacts the sender writes on the "To:" and the "CC:" will be visible to everyone, but the ones on the "BCC:" will be hidden from everyone.

Now I'll show you how to add BCC to your emails on Gmail; Yahoo and Hotmail:

How to disable User Account Control On your computer.

Disable User Account Control:

1. Type “MsConfig” in Start Search to start System Configuration, then go to Tools tab, select Change UAC Settings, then click on Launch button.
2. Click on User Account Control settings link.
3. Slide the slider bar to the lowest value, to choose when you give those warnings.
4. Click OK to make the change effective.
5. Restart the computer to turn off User Access Control.

Microsoft Excel function translations

For many Excel users functions are a very easy and fast way to build tables that without that would be hard and would take allot of time. But there is a catch... Copying and Editing Text on Windows.

This Shortcuts not only work on Microsoft Office Word but as well almost every text based program on Windows.
Copying: Click Ctrl and C
Cutting: Click Ctrl and X
Paste: Click Ctrl and V
Undo: Click Ctrl and Z
Redo: Click Ctrl and Y

This shortcuts will work on Mircrosoft Office Word, Excel, PDF, etc.
Increasing page size: Click Ctrl and +
Decreasing page size: Click Ctrl and -
Printing: Click Ctrl and P

How do search on any browser easily.

Many people when doing an extenssive search about any subject, need a way to easily and quickly open several tabs in order to search faster.
Well there is a way, just use the little wheel that you use to scrool up and down, can be used to click too. When you use that it automatically opens a new tab on your browser with that link on.
That way you won't loose much time selecting all the link you wish to see.
